Al Karama is one of the older central districts, next to Bur Dubai and Oud Metha: blocks of low-rise apartment buildings, inexpensive restaurants from across Asia and Karama Market. The Green Line of the metro runs here, so within the district you can manage without a car, but for the beaches, the desert and trips to other emirates a car is far more convenient. Our office is in Dubai Marina, 25 to 35 minutes away outside rush hour, so for Al Karama we bring the car to your building or hotel. The handover takes about 10 minutes. Parking in Al Karama
Karama is densely built, and in the evening, when residents come home, street spaces between the buildings are hard to find, so allow a few minutes for an evening return. Street parking follows the standard Parkin rules: pay by zone code in the Parkin app, AED 4.20 an hour at peak, 8 to 10 in the morning and 4 to 8 in the evening, AED 2.10 to 4.20 off-peak depending on the zone, and free from 10 pm to 8 am, on Sundays and on public holidays. As in Bur Dubai, some bays are reserved for residents in the evening, so read the signs carefully. A compact car is easier on these streets.
Getting around from Al Karama
Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road are a few minutes away. The drive to the Marina along Sheikh Zayed Road passes the Al Safa and Al Barsha Salik gates, AED 4.20 or 6.30 each depending on the hour; Al Khail Road has no gates on this stretch and avoids them. To reach Deira and DXB airport you cross the Creek: the Al Maktoum and Al Garhoud bridges have Salik gates, and the Floating Bridge is free during the day. DXB is about 15 minutes away, Downtown 10 to 15 minutes outside rush hour.
Delivery terms
On rentals of 7 days or more, delivery and collection anywhere in Dubai are free. On shorter rentals they cost AED 210 for both legs together. There is no deposit on any car, and 250 km a day are included.
