Over 25 models, from budget to premium
Just five to seven years ago, Chinese cars in Dubai's rental fleets were a rarity, today it is one of the fastest growing segments in the market. Our own fleet carries more than 25 models from Chinese brands, from compact sedans at AED 109 a day to premium electric cars with over 500 hp on tap. The range is wide enough to cover almost any need, from an economical family holiday to a status-making drive in an electric flagship.
Why Chinese cars have grown so much in the Dubai market
There are several reasons, and they stack on top of each other. First, Chinese manufacturers have sharply raised build quality, materials and equipment levels in recent years, current models from Chery, Geely, Haval or BYD often match Japanese and Korean rivals of the same class feature for feature, and sometimes beat them on screens, cameras and driver assistance systems. Second, the UAE and the wider Gulf region have become a priority market for Chinese brands: cars are supplied in GCC specification, built for the region's heat and roads, with a stronger air conditioning system and settings tuned for the local climate, and official warranty and service support are available in the country. Third, price: for comparable equipment a Chinese car is usually cheaper to buy, which feeds directly into a lower daily rental rate.
Add a fast product cycle on top: Chinese brands have launched dozens of new models over the past three to four years, including fully electric ones, and rental fleets have been able to refresh faster than before. The result is a choice for a tourist or a business traveller that simply did not exist five years ago.
Budget segment: from AED 109 a day
Here we have the Chery Arrezo and the Changan Alsvin 2025 at AED 109 a day, the GAC GS3 2025 at AED 115, the Changan Eado 2024 at AED 119, the Geely Coolray and Haval Jolion 2025 at AED 120, the Omoda C5 2025 at AED 125. These are compact sedans and crossovers for the city, fuel efficient, with basic but sufficient equipment: air conditioning, media system, reversing camera. A solid choice for anyone who wants the lowest possible rental cost and is happy in a compact car.
Mid segment: from AED 140, more room and technology
Next comes the mid tier: the GAC Empow 2025 at AED 140, the Jetour X70 2025 at AED 145 (7 seats, suits a family or a light trip toward Hatta), the Haval H6 2025 at AED 150, the Jaecoo J7 2025 at AED 155, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro 2024 at AED 190 (also 7 seats), the BYD Atto 3 2025 at AED 200, already an electric car. Cars in this segment are larger and better equipped: big media screens, driver assistance systems, and some models have a third row of seats. It is a sensible choice for a family of 5 to 7 who need space without paying for a premium brand.
Premium and performance: from AED 220 up
At the top of our range we have the Hongqi H5 2025 at AED 220, the BYD Seal 2025 at AED 280, the Hongqi H9 2024 at AED 550. The electric models here are especially interesting on paper: the BYD Han 2025 at AED 300 with 380 hp, the Zeekr X 2025 at AED 300 with 428 hp, the BYD Tang 2025 at AED 350 with 517 hp and 7 seats, and the flagship Zeekr 001 2025 at AED 480 with 544 hp. This is no longer a budget alternative, it is a full premium electric car competing on performance and equipment with well known European marques, at a noticeably lower rental rate.
What you actually get from a Chinese car today
The spread of models in our fleet tells the main story: Chinese brands are no longer confined to one niche. At the bottom of the range it is a genuinely economical alternative to the usual Toyota and Hyundai at a comparable or lower price. In the middle it is a family crossover with generous equipment and room for up to 7 passengers. At the top it is a full premium electric car with 500+ hp, delivering the performance of a sports sedan in an executive-size body.

Who is behind the brands
The spread of names can be confusing, but most of them belong to large industrial groups with a long history in the car business. Geely owns several brands and a stake in Mercedes-Benz, Great Wall Motor builds Haval and Jaecoo, Chery separately develops Omoda and Jaecoo as newer lines, BYD is one of the largest battery makers in the world, which directly explains the strength of its electric cars like the Han, Tang and Seal, and Zeekr is Geely's premium electric sub-brand. Hongqi is historically China's state premium marque, which explains the more formal, executive character of the H5 and H9. Knowing who stands behind a brand helps explain why one marque leans into electric power and another into a classic SUV formula.
Rental terms are the same regardless of brand
Every Chinese model in our fleet follows the same terms as the rest of the fleet: minimum rental 1 day, no deposit, age 21 with at least 1 year of driving experience, insurance included in the rate, 250 km of mileage a day, and free delivery and collection anywhere in Dubai on rentals of 7 days or more. Electric models never need refuelling, but it is worth checking charging availability along your route ahead of a longer trip.
Electric or petrol
Among Chinese brands we carry an unusually wide choice of electric cars specifically: the BYD Atto 3, BYD Seal, BYD Han, BYD Tang and the full Zeekr line-up. For city use that is convenient, charging is available at hotels and malls, and electric motors often accelerate harder than a petrol equivalent at a comparable price. For longer trips, say to Abu Dhabi or Al Ain, it is worth mapping the route against charging stations in advance if the total distance is close to the car's range. Petrol models are simpler in that sense, fuel is available everywhere and there is nothing to plan around.
How to choose among 25+ models
If the goal is the lowest possible city budget, look at the budget segment from AED 109. If you are travelling as a family and need 7 seats, consider the Jetour X70 or the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro. If you want performance and technology without paying a European premium-brand markup, the electric Zeekr and BYD models at the top of the range deliver noticeably more power for the same money as an ordinary mid-class petrol crossover.
