Dubai does not really argue anymore about whether Chinese premium cars are real competitors. Our fleet runs 288 cars across 56 brands, and inside the Chinese lineup there is a distinct premium and performance tier: Hongqi sedans, BYD electrics and performance sedans, premium Zeekr models, the six-seat Li Auto L9 and the Xiaomi SU7 Max electric sedan. These are not the budget crossovers at AED 110 to 120 a day. On power, equipment and rental price they sit next to European premium metal.

Hongqi: a Chinese executive sedan
Hongqi, meaning “Red Flag”, is historically the marque built for China's top officials, and that shows in how the cars are set up: a long wheelbase, a focus on rear-seat comfort, restrained styling with no unnecessary aggression. The H5 is a business-class sedan, closer in spirit to a Camry or Accord but with noticeably more premium cabin finishing. The H9 is a full-size flagship, a rival to E-Class or 5 Series sedans, and its rental price reflects that at AED 550 a day.
BYD: from a sport sedan to an electric SUV
BYD covers three models in our premium tier. The Seal is a sport sedan and the most affordable entry into the BYD line at AED 280 a day. The Han is the brand's flagship sedan, 380 hp, with cabin quality that feels a step above the Seal. The Tang is a seven-seat electric SUV rated at 517 hp, the most powerful BYD in our fleet and one of the few seven-seat electric cars available for rent in Dubai at all.
Zeekr: the premium electric sub-brand
Zeekr is a premium electric marque, represented here by two models. The X is a compact crossover at 428 hp, suited to anyone who wants electric-car acceleration in a city-friendly footprint. The 001 is a shooting brake, the most powerful model in the line at 544 hp, and one of the more interesting alternatives to premium German electrics on a price-to-performance basis.
How this differs from familiar premium brands
On rental price, Chinese premium cars usually sit well below comparable European models: the Hongqi H9 at AED 550 a day costs about the same as a mid-year E-Class sedan, while offering more rear-seat space. The BYD Han and Zeekr X, both in the 380 to 430 hp range, drive comparably to a BMW 3 or 4 Series but rent for AED 300 rather than 400 to 500. The real difference for a renter is not price but recognition: these models mostly attract people who already know the brand or specifically want to try Chinese premium, rather than a first-time visitor picking a badge on sight.
We do not carry a Lotus, even though the brand is also tied to Chinese capital. If that is what you are looking for, it is not in our current fleet.
Who these cars suit
- Anyone who has already driven a BYD, Hongqi or Zeekr at home and wants the same experience in Dubai.
- Families who need a spacious electric SUV. The seven-seat Tang covers that gap better than most alternatives.
- Anyone who wants premium-level power and handling without a supercar price tag: 380 to 673 hp for AED 280 to 550 a day is a rare combination on the Dubai market.
- Business trips where a spacious rear seat and a dignified look matter without drawing too much attention. The Hongqi fits this particularly well.
Rental terms match the rest of the fleet
No deposit on any of these cars, the Zeekr 001 and Hongqi H9 included. Minimum driver age is 21 with at least a year of driving experience, no extra requirement specific to these brands. Insurance is included in the price. 250 km of mileage a day is included, and delivery and collection anywhere in Dubai (hotel, apartment, either airport) are free on rentals of 7 days or more; shorter rentals pay AED 210 for delivery and collection together. Payment is by card, cash or bank transfer, full prepayment, no deposit block.
For the electric models, the BYD Seal, Han and Tang, the Zeekr X and 001 and the Xiaomi SU7 Max, the same rules apply as for the rest of the fleet's electric cars: a full charge at handover, and the first full charge is free on rentals of 5 days or more.
Electric models: charging and what to know
The BYD Seal, Han and Tang, the Zeekr X and 001 and the Xiaomi SU7 Max are fully electric, while the Li Auto L9 has a petrol range extender and is refuelled like a regular car. Dubai has a wide network of DEWA Green Charger points at petrol stations, malls and hotel car parks, so finding a charge inside the city is straightforward. Outside Dubai, on the way to Hatta or Al Ain, charging points thin out, which is worth planning around for longer trips in any of them. We hand the car over fully charged; topping up after that is on the renter, the same as fuel on a petrol car.
Choosing between the models
For a comfortable everyday sedan for city driving and meetings, pick the H5 or the Seal; the gap is AED 60 a day, and the Seal has a sportier suspension and a stronger sense of acceleration. If power and status matter but a supercar budget does not make sense, the Han, Zeekr X or Zeekr 001 in the AED 300 to 480 range deliver 380 to 544 hp. If a seven-seat electric is the requirement, the Tang is close to the only option. For a representative trip that leans on rear-seat space, the H9.
Is a Chinese premium car worth choosing over a familiar brand
If the goal is a recognisable badge for photos, a G63 or Range Rover is the more honest choice. If the goal is specification, comfort and power for sensible money, Chinese premium often wins on value: AED 300 to 350 a day buys 380 to 517 hp and a cabin standard that German brands rarely match at that price point. Demand for these models in Dubai has grown noticeably over the last couple of years, mostly from renters from China and Southeast Asia and from people already considering one of these cars at home.

Booking works the same as for any other car in the fleet: pick the model on the site, set your dates, add delivery if needed. No deposit is required, and documents (passport, licence, an International Driving Permit if needed) are checked at handover.
