If you want a premium sedan but see no need to pay for an S-Class or a 7 Series, the choice usually comes down to two models: the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes C-Class. They are the same size and both seat five as a saloon, but the character is different. Below is a comparison based on our own fleet, with prices as of October 2026. The current price is shown on each car page.

We also have a second Mercedes C200 convertible from 2022 at the same prices: 349 AED a day, 2,390 AED a week and 6,990 AED a month. Its power figure is listed inconsistently in our data, so check the car page. On terms: the Mercedes-Benz C200 2025 is provided by a partner company, with a 1,000 AED deposit and a 7-day minimum. The other cars in the table need no deposit, and each car page shows its own terms.

Price: where the value is

The cheapest car in the comparison is the BMW 330i from 2019, at 239 AED a day and 5,490 AED a month. It has 258 hp, the same as the Mercedes C300, which costs 480 AED a day. The price gap of about half comes down to the model year, 2019 against 2025. If you care about performance more than the year on the registration card, the 330i is very good value.

Among the newer cars, the BMW 320i 2025 and the Mercedes C200 convertible cost the same per day and per week: 349 AED and 2,390 AED. For a month the BMW 320i is 7,490 AED and the convertible 6,990 AED. The C200 saloon 2025 is dearer at 400 AED a day. Moving up, the C300 is 480 AED a day and the AMG C43 is 750 AED. We have no BMW above the 330i in this line, so for a faster BMW look at the separate M models.

Power and character

The BMW 320i and 320i M Sport give 184 hp from a two-litre turbo and drive the rear wheels. According to their descriptions, 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.1 seconds in the 2025 car and 7.4 seconds in the 2023 M Sport. The 2025 car uses about 7 litres per 100 km, has a 480-litre boot, adaptive cruise and wireless Apple CarPlay. The 330i M Sport feels noticeably livelier: 258 hp, 5.8 seconds to 100 km/h and a 250 km/h top speed.

The Mercedes C200 2025 has a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid engine with 204 hp and does 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. It has an 11.9-inch portrait screen, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise, ventilated leather seats and a 455-litre boot. The C300 with 258 hp takes 6 seconds, comes with the AMG Line package as standard and has a panoramic roof. The C43 with 408 hp and 4MATIC all-wheel drive does 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, and it requires a driver aged 21 or over with one year of experience.

Choose the BMW 3 Series if

  • The steering and the feel in corners matter most: rear-wheel drive and precise handling are the main reasons people pick a 3 Series.
  • You want performance on a small budget: the 330i with 258 hp at 239 AED a day.
  • You are renting for a month and want to keep the bill low: from 5,490 AED for the 330i.
  • You need space for a couple of large suitcases: the 320i has a 480-litre boot.

Choose the Mercedes C-Class if

  • The interior and the feeling of a small S-Class matter: portrait screen, ventilated seats, ambient lighting.
  • You want an open car: the C200 convertible at 349 AED a day, the same price as the BMW 320i 2025 saloon.
  • You want a step up without going to supercars: the C300 at 480 AED or the AMG C43 with 408 hp at 750 AED.
  • Most of your driving is in town and on the motorway, and speed is secondary.

Bottom line

For driving for its own sake pick the BMW, for comfort and interior the Mercedes, and for an open roof the C200 convertible. If you want maximum speed for sensible money, look at the 330i or the C43.
