Dubai's two big SUVs head to head
The Mercedes-AMG G63 and the Range Rover Sport usually end up on the same shortlist when someone asks for a large, prestigious SUV. Both have all-wheel drive, leather, massage seats and a 360-degree camera, and both need no deposit. Yet the G63 costs about 44 percent more per day, so the question is what exactly you are paying for. Here is the comparison using our fleet data (prices as of October 2026; the current price is on each car page).
The numbers side by side
| Item | Mercedes-AMG G63 2023 | Range Rover Sport 2024 |

| Per month, AED | 24,700 | 17,100 |
| Deposit, minimum | no deposit, from 1 day | no deposit, from 1 day |
At the weekly rate the G63 works out to about 1,077 AED per day and the Range Rover Sport to about 746 AED. The gap is 2,320 AED over a week and 7,600 AED over a month.
Mercedes-AMG G63: character and image
People recognise the G63 in Dubai instantly: the boxy body, an exhaust note you hear before you see the car. The cabin has Nappa leather, two screens, Burmester audio, a 360-degree camera, ventilated and massaging seats and carbon trim. It is bought for the image: it is the car most often requested for photo shoots and special occasions, so book ahead for weekends and holidays.
You choose it with emotion. The seating position is high and upright and the view out is excellent, but the car feels like an event rather than a quiet limousine. If you want to step out at a hotel on the Palm or in Downtown and have people notice, the G63 delivers exactly that.
If you want something even louder, the fleet has the G63 AMG Double Night Package 2025 (blacked-out details, 2,000 AED per day, 12,000 per week, 44,000 per month) and the G63 AMG Brabus 900 Rocket Edition 2024 with a 4.5-litre 900 hp engine (2,500 AED per day, 13,999 per week, 49,999 per month). Neither needs a deposit.
Range Rover Sport: comfort and a smooth ride
The current-generation Range Rover Sport is closer to a long-distance business-class car than a statement piece. It has air suspension, rear-axle steering, a curved 13.1-inch screen with Apple CarPlay, adaptive cruise, a panoramic roof, Meridian 3D audio and massage with ventilation. Its description calls it the most popular Range Rover among our clients.
On long drives between the emirates it tires you less: the suspension smooths out rough surfaces and the driver gets less fatigued. The 400 hp engine is clearly weaker than the G63's, but for Dubai's expressways it has plenty in reserve. It costs 400 AED less per day, and over a week the difference pays for a few fine dinners or a good deal of the fuel.
How to choose for your plan
- Photos, video, a wedding, a birthday, an evening out: the G63. It is the car as image.
- A week of trips around the emirates with family or friends: the Range Rover Sport. More comfortable on the highway and 2,320 AED cheaper per week.
- A month-long rental: the Range Rover Sport if you want a daily car; the G63 if you simply want that car and accept the higher cost.
- Roads outside the city and the desert: both are all-wheel drive, but discuss leaving the asphalt with us beforehand, not on the day.
What a weekend or a week costs
As an example, here is the daily-rate arithmetic, without fuel, Salik or delivery:
- 2 days: G63 about 2,600 AED, Range Rover Sport about 1,800 AED.
- 3 days: G63 about 3,900 AED, Range Rover Sport about 2,700 AED.
- 5 days: G63 about 6,500 AED, Range Rover Sport about 4,500 AED.
- 7 days at the weekly rate: 7,540 and 5,220 AED.
Note that six daily rates (7,800 and 5,400 AED) already exceed the weekly price, so for a six or seven day trip the weekly rate is the better deal. Ask the manager how exactly your rental will be priced when you book. For rentals shorter than 7 days, add 210 AED for delivery and return together if you need them.
What to keep in mind when booking
Both SUVs are large, so parking in older districts and on narrow underground levels needs attention. Salik and fines are paid by the renter at actual cost. Delivery and return in Dubai are free on rentals from 7 days; for shorter rentals, delivery plus return costs 210 AED. You can pay by cash, bank card or e-wallet; with a card the rental amount may be held as a pre-authorisation and charged at the end.
