The BMW M5 and the Audi RS6 Avant share the same power, 600 hp, all-wheel drive and five seats. One is a saloon and the other an estate, and both accelerate faster than many sports cars. The choice comes down to details: price, boot space and character. Below is a comparison of our own fleet only, with prices as of October 2026. The current price is shown on each car page.

Price: the Audi is 300 AED a day cheaper
The M5 is 1,600 AED a day and the RS6 Avant is 1,300 AED. The gap is 300 AED a day, 1,260 AED a week (8,800 against 7,540) and 2,500 AED a month (27,200 against 24,700). Both weekly prices beat the daily rate: seven days of the M5 at the daily price would be 11,200 AED, while the week is 8,800. For the RS6 seven days would be 9,100 and the week is 7,540.
If price matters more than body style, look at the RS Q8: the same 600 hp for 1,000 AED a day and 5,800 AED a week. The X5 M Competition with 625 PS is 1,150 AED a day.
Power and character
Our description of the BMW M5: a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with 600 hp and M xDrive all-wheel drive that can disconnect the front axle and run on pure rear drive. It does 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h. It has a carbon roof, ventilated sports seats, a curved display, Bowers & Wilkins audio and optional ceramic brakes. The boot is 530 litres.
The Audi RS6 Avant has a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 600 hp, quattro all-wheel drive and 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. It has RS air suspension, carbon-ceramic brakes on request, three screens, Bang & Olufsen audio, a 360-degree camera and adaptive cruise. The boot is 565 litres. Our description calls it one of the rarest cars in Dubai rental fleets.
In practice they are almost equal in speed: the 0.1 second gap to 100 km/h is more of a formality. The M5 is about the rear-axle option and the sporting character of a saloon, the RS6 is about versatility and calm confidence. The model years differ too, 2024 for the M5 and 2023 for the RS6.
Choose the BMW M5 if
- You want a saloon with a choice of rear-wheel drive: the mode where the front axle disconnects.
- The newest cabin, a carbon roof and a curved display matter: the M5 is a 2024 car.
- You want maximum performance and are happy to pay 300 AED a day more for it.
- You do not need a huge boot: 530 litres is enough for a couple of suitcases.
Choose the Audi RS6 Avant if
- You want a practical fast car: an estate with a 565-litre boot.
- You want to save: 1,300 AED a day and 24,700 AED a month instead of 27,200.
- You want a rare car that you will not see in every car park.
- You value calm driving with plenty of power in reserve, and air suspension.
Practical points
A few things are worth planning for with a powerful car. Insurance and 250 km a day are included, while speeding fines and Salik tolls are paid by the renter at actual cost. A 600 hp V8 uses noticeably more fuel than an ordinary saloon, so budget for it. Delivery in Dubai is free on rentals of 7 days or more, and for shorter rentals delivery and return together cost 210 AED. If you take the car for a week, look at the weekly price straight away: it is lower than the daily rate.
If you want an SUV instead
The RS Q8 and the X5 M Competition also give 600 hp or more, in an SUV body. The RS Q8 is cheaper than both main cars at 1,000 AED a day and has a 605-litre boot. The X5 M Competition has 625 PS, a 650-litre boot and costs 1,150 AED. For a family with a lot of luggage, or if you prefer a high seating position, it is the simpler choice.
