One detail stands out: the Velar HST, the Sport and the Vogue are all rated at the same 400 hp. The price gap between them, from 620 to 1,300 AED a day, is not paying for more power, it is paying for body size, cabin finish, seating position and how the car reads from the outside. More on that below.
Evoque: compact and city-friendly
The Evoque 2024, 249 hp, 350 AED a day, is the most affordable and the most compact Range Rover in the fleet. It is easy to park at hotels in Dubai Marina and Business Bay and turns more easily in tight spots than the other four models. For a solo traveller or a couple mostly driving around the city, the beach and one or two emirates, the Evoque covers the job fully, and the 150 to 950 AED a day you save compared with the bigger models stays in your pocket.
Velar and Velar HST: same body, different power
The Velar 2023 and the Velar HST 2025 share the same body, sitting between the Evoque and the Sport in size, but power differs by almost half: 250 hp on the standard Velar against 400 on the HST. The price rises more modestly, from 500 to 620 AED a day, just 120 AED for a substantial jump in pull. If most of your driving is around the city and short trips out, the standard Velar at 500 AED is enough. If you plan to spend time on Sheikh Zayed Road or drive to Abu Dhabi or Al Ain often, the HST at 620 AED feels noticeably stronger on acceleration and overtaking.
Sport: same rated power, a different class
The Range Rover Sport 2024 is rated at the same 400 hp as the Velar HST, yet costs 900 AED a day against 620. The extra 280 AED is not about performance, it is about positioning: the Sport is bigger, more imposing, and reads as a separate step up in the Range Rover lineup rather than a Velar trim. Renters choose it for the Sport badge itself and the more commanding look outside a hotel or a business meeting, not for extra power.
Vogue: the flagship
The Vogue 2024, also 400 hp, 1,300 AED a day, is the most expensive and the most imposing Range Rover in the fleet. It is the full-size flagship: the most cabin space, the softest ride, the car most likely to be noticed at a hotel entrance or an event. It does not outrun the HST or the Sport on power, the whole difference is size, comfort and status. Renters book the Vogue for weddings, business visits and occasions where what you arrive in matters more than how fast you got there.
Vogue or Sport: a direct comparison
Since the model names invite a direct comparison between these two more than any other pair, here is the difference in short. Power is identical, 400 hp on both. The Vogue costs 400 AED a day more, 1,300 against 900, and that is entirely about size: the Vogue has a longer wheelbase, more rear legroom, and a softer suspension tune built for comfort rather than handling. The Sport is physically smaller and stays more composed through corners, which you feel on the mountain road to Hatta or Jebel Jais. For an airport transfer that turns heads, a wedding convoy, or picking up an important guest, renters choose the Vogue. For an active day out of town, where the car gets driven rather than just shown off, the Sport is the more common pick.
By budget and by purpose
- Budget up to 500 AED a day, city and beach: the Evoque. Compact, economical for the class, more than enough.
- Budget 500 to 650 AED, regular trips out of town: the Velar for a comfortable ride, or the Velar HST if you want more highway punch.
- Budget from 900 AED, status matters but without flagship dimensions: the Range Rover Sport.
- Budget from 1,300 AED, a representative occasion, a wedding, a business meeting, maximum comfort: the Vogue.
For long trips outside Dubai, to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain or Ras Al Khaimah, any of the five models handles the distance, the difference is in ride comfort and how much pull you have on overtakes. For status occasions, where the car is part of the impression rather than just transport, it makes sense to look at the Sport and above.
Long trips: Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah
The round trip to Abu Dhabi runs around 270 to 280 km, to Al Ain around 300 km, and to Ras Al Khaimah and Jebel Jais around 200 km each way. On all of these routes the Evoque and the standard Velar drive smoothly with no complaints, but on inclines and overtakes on the highway their 249 to 250 hp work closer to the limit with a full boot. The Velar HST, Sport and Vogue with their 400 hp feel more confident, highway acceleration is noticeably calmer, which matters most with four or five people and luggage on board. For a single day trip to Abu Dhabi the difference is not critical, for regular long drives the extra power earns its keep.
What is included
All five Range Rover models rent on the same fleet terms: no deposit on any car, minimum driver age 21, minimum 1 year of driving experience, minimum rental 1 day. The included mileage is 250 km a day, insurance is included, full zero-excess cover is available as a paid add-on. Delivery and collection anywhere in Dubai are free on rentals of 7 days or more, on shorter rentals delivery and collection together cost AED 210. The car is handed over with a full tank, and on rentals of 5 days or more the first tank is included in the price.
