Which American SUVs are in the fleet

As of October 2026 we have twelve American SUVs. Six are full-size: the Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, Ford Expedition, GMC Yukon Denali, Lincoln Navigator and Cadillac Escalade. Six sit one class below: the Dodge Durango, Ford Explorer, GMC Acadia, Cadillac XT5 and two Chevrolet Traverse cars (a 2021 and a 2024).

Prices in this group start at 239 AED per day, and the most expensive car, the Escalade, is 850 AED. A week (7 days) costs from 1,500 to 4,930 AED and a month (30 days) from 4,890 to 16,150 AED. These are October 2026 prices; the current price is always on each car page.

The Lincoln Navigator (2024) is 750 AED per day, 4,350 per week and 14,250 per month. It has a twin-turbo 3.5 V6 with 450 hp, seven seats and air suspension.

Choosing the right one

  • A group of six to eight with suitcases. The Suburban is the answer: at 5.73 m it is the longest production SUV, and the boot behind the third row is clearly bigger than its neighbours'. The Tahoe is shorter (5.35 m) and 70 AED per day cheaper, but with every seat taken it holds less luggage.
  • Business meetings and airport guest pick-ups. The Yukon Denali, Navigator and Escalade. Leather, ventilated and massaging seats, and on the Escalade a curved 38-inch screen. A chauffeur is available for the Navigator on request.
  • A family of five to seven without overpaying. The Durango (5.7 V8, 360 hp, seven seats), Explorer (320 AED per day), Acadia (300 AED) and Traverse.
  • One or two people who want comfort. The Cadillac XT5: five seats, a 3.6 V6 with 314 hp, 380 AED per day. A full-size SUV is usually too much for two.

The partner Traverse and its terms

The Chevrolet Traverse 2024 (250 AED per day, 1,500 per week, 5,000 per month) is provided by a partner company, so it has its own terms: a 1,000 AED deposit and a 7-day minimum, as shown on the car page. The Traverse LT AWD 2021 is our own car: 239 AED per day, 1,590 per week, 4,890 per month, no deposit and a one-day minimum.

Most of the other cars in this group need no deposit, insurance is included and the limit is 250 km per day. If a particular car needs a deposit, it is shown on its page.

Fuel, parking and Salik

Big V8s are thirsty. The Durango listing quotes about 14 litres per 100 km, and the 6.2-litre Yukon and Escalade will use more. Budget for that if you plan to drive a lot. The 250 km per day is a distance allowance, not a fuel allowance, and fuel is paid by the renter.

Salik tolls are charged at actual cost per gate crossed, and the amount does not depend on the size of the car. Speeding fines are likewise paid at actual cost.

Parking is the real adjustment in a car 5.3 m long or more. Older multi-storey car parks and narrow streets in the Marina are tight. A 360-degree camera helps (the Tahoe, Suburban, Expedition, Yukon, Escalade and Navigator all have one), and so does choosing open-air parking. Spend ten minutes on your first drive getting used to the size.

Week or month: what saves money

The weekly rate on these cars equals roughly six days: a week in the Tahoe costs 2,100 AED instead of 2,450 at the daily rate. On the Escalade the gap is bigger, 4,930 instead of 5,950 AED. The monthly rate is better still: a Tahoe for 30 days is 7,000 AED, not 10,500 at the daily rate.

Delivery and return in Dubai are free on rentals from 7 days; on shorter rentals delivery costs 210 AED (delivery and return together). The driver must be at least 21 with a year of driving experience. If you want to drive into Oman, ask when booking: it is not allowed on partner cars.
