A weekend car makes sense in two situations: you live in Dubai without your own car and want to get out of town, or you are visiting for a few days and do not want to depend on taxis. Short rentals work a little differently from weekly ones, so it helps to plan the budget and the route in advance. Prices below are as of October 2026, and the current price is always on each car page.
Minimum period: do 2 to 3 days work
Most of the fleet suits a weekend. For most cars the minimum rental is 1 day, and for some (for example the Chevrolet Camaro RS and BMW 420i convertibles) it is 2 days. Saturday and Sunday are enough for almost any such car.
A partner company also provides cars with its own terms: a 1,000 AED deposit and a minimum of 3 or 7 days. These rarely fit a short weekend trip, apart from a few models with a 3-day minimum. The terms of each car are on its page, so check them before booking.
Most cars need no deposit and insurance is included. If a particular car needs a deposit, it is shown on its page.
What a weekend costs: real numbers
For rentals shorter than a week the daily price applies. Here are five cars from different classes:
| Car | Seats | Per day, AED | 2 days, AED | 3 days, AED |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hyundai Tucson 2023 | 5 | 139 | 278 | 417 |
| Toyota Camry 2025 | 5 | 180 | 360 | 540 |
| Nissan X-Trail 2025 | 7 | 200 | 400 | 600 |
| Ford Mustang EcoBoost Convertible 2024 | 4 | 300 | 600 | 900 |
| Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2024 | 7 | 400 | 800 | 1,200 |
This is the rental cost only. On rentals shorter than 7 days, delivery and return within Dubai cost 210 AED together (free from 7 days). You can also collect the car at our office in Princess Tower, Dubai Marina, which is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00. Salik tolls and fines, if any, are paid at actual cost.
The weekly rate is cheaper per day: for example the Toyota Camry is 180 AED per day and 1,170 AED per week, which is 167 AED a day. That does not apply to a weekend, so count three days at the daily price.
Which car for which route
- Hatta. A road into the mountains and to the dam, mostly smooth but with climbs. A crossover such as the Hyundai Tucson works, and so does the Nissan X-Trail if you travel as a family or a group. All-wheel drive is not needed for tarmac, it is only extra confidence. If you plan to leave the paved road, ask us what is allowed.
- Fujairah and the east coast. A longer and calmer drive, so comfort matters more: a Toyota Camry or a crossover with good suspension.
- Abu Dhabi. A fast, smooth motorway with no surprises. Any car with air conditioning copes. Abu Dhabi has its own toll system, so ask us before you go.
- Just cruising along the coast. For two people a convertible makes sense, for example the Ford Mustang EcoBoost Convertible. Keep in mind that luggage space is small.
Mileage: 250 km a day
Most cars include 250 km per day. It matters for planning. Approximate distances from central Dubai one way: Hatta around 130 km, Fujairah 130 to 150 km, Abu Dhabi about 140 km. A round trip to Hatta fits into a day with room to spare. A round trip to Abu Dhabi comes close to the limit or slightly over it, especially if you also drive around the city.
So over a weekend it is easier to spread the long routes across different days: Hatta on Saturday, a short city drive on Sunday. How mileage is counted over several days and what happens if you go over, ask when booking. We do not quote figures here so as not to mislead you.
How to plan the weekend
- Pick-up and return times. The office works from 10:00 to 19:00. If you need the car on Friday evening or want to return it late on Sunday, agree this in advance.
- Traffic. On weekends the roads to the coast and to Hatta fill up in the afternoon. Leave early.
- Licence. The driver must be at least 21 with at least one year of driving experience. Whether your national licence is enough or you need an International Driving Permit depends on your country. If you are not sure, check with us before booking.
- Oman. Driving into Oman is discussed when booking, and it is not allowed on partner cars.
- Payment. Cash, bank card or e-wallets. When paying by card, the rental amount may be held as a pre-authorisation and charged at the end.
If the weekend is long, consider 4 to 6 days: the cost grows in a straight line and the conditions stay the same.
